Will.i.am., the oft (and frankly, deservedly) mocked but somehow wildly successful lead whatever for the Black Eyed Peas hosted Dean Kamen’s Robotics Championship, which actually makes sense considering the amount of machines Will runs his voice through to make the god-awful chart-topping music he makes.
This was the annually-held competition’s 20th year, but its first with an added Will.i.am-helmed sideshow called i.am FIRST- Science is Rock and Roll,which featured live performances by the Black Eyed Peas and Willow Smith. Did we mention that the whole ordeal was hosted by Will.i.am.? Who collects a paycheck as Intel’s “Director of Creative Innovation?” Ugh. Do they make robots that assist with suicides yet? Kevorkiabots has a nice ring to it.
Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Bono, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and Steven Tyler were all on hand as well for the Sunday event. Minus Snoop, would anyone really have minded if the robots chose Sunday to go all Terminator on us?
