In Machine Gun Preacher, Gerard Butler stars as former real-life drug dealer Sam Childers, a biker and a brawler who finds his calling as an unexpected savior to children in the Sudan. Seeking redemption for his sins, Childers turns his bare-knuckle and bullet-slinging skills into rage for the country's warlords who were intent on kidnapping kids.

In this two-and-a-half minute video, we see Butler's character become a baptized badass, create ties at an orphanage, and attempt to sanctify the Sudan of evil. All of this action works in the context of the story, but does it follow actual events? Honestly, we'd have to hear it from the horse's mouth. Word is that the real-life Rambo type still runs an orphanage/mission there — but he's still no angel.

Directed by Marc Forster (World War Z, Quantum of Solace), this action-drama, which also stars Michael Shannon and Michelle Monaghan, will bless cinephiles nationwide on September 23.
