Checking the MTA's website brings up this handy bit of info with regards to public transportation resuming:

"Restoration of service will be implemented as quickly as possible without compromising the safety of our customers, employees or equipment, but it is expected to be a lengthy process that will begin with damage assessment and could include significant repairs."

What we've learned:

1. This might take a while. Or at least we're going to suggest that it can so that the public can develop no  real sense of how long till service resumes, and therefore can't get too too angry. (Of course, this will stop no one from getting angry.)

2. Maybe we'll miss work tomorrow?

Enjoy your Sunday. Hopefully you still have booze left from Irene Y2K.
