GameFly is known as the Netflix-esque video game rental service that delivers a queue of titles to your mailbox for a monthly fee. It’s fitting that they would be following the latest trends by opening up a digital distribution method for PC gamers. Unlimited PC Play will allow GameFly subscribers to access a “large and ever-growing collection of titles” that can be downloaded for Windows and Mac. A closed beta for the new service will begin on September 8 with an official launch sometime around the holiday season. While Steam and Origin battle over digital distribution of purchased games, GameFly’s monthly subscription model should provide some interesting competition. [via Shacknews]
