Remember those fake Apple Stores that popped in China last month? Sure you do, they were the ones that perfectly mimicked real Apple retail shops down to the employee t-shirts and minimalist design. Chinese authorities shut down a number of the bootleg stores shortly after news of their existence broke. To avoid getting put out of business, a number of the shops decided to switch their name from Apple Stores to Smart Stores. Will this keep them open? Not sure, judging from the photo above, they're still using the official Apple logo—that can't be good for business.
