For some, this will be breaking news: Chipotle cooks their pinto beans with bacon. Seth Porges, senior editor at Maxim, sentt up a warning flare to all vegetarians via Twitter this week, informing everyone of this fact. The CEO of Chipotle acted quick quick to address the situation, claiming that signage in the burrito chain will be changed to reflect the pinto beans' non-vegetarian status to all customers.
Here's the thing. As a person that has eaten the vegetarian burrito at Chipotle before, I was perfectly aware of this. The first time I ordered said burrito, I was told I should get black beans if I wanted the meal to be genuinely vegetarian. Apparently Porges had not experienced this sort of kindess during previous Chipotle visits. That's too bad.
