The troubles for Zack Snyder’s reboot of the Superman movie franchise continue as Warner Bros. just announced that the film, titled Man of Steel, has been pushed back to June 14, 2013, according to Super Hero Hype. Originally slated for December 2012, the film has been kept under tight wraps by the studio, and MovieHole recently reported that the script has undergone some big rewrites. Those rewrites are particularly noteworthy because they were happening just before the movie was set to begin filming.
With Warner Bros. concluding its Harry Potter franchise last week, and Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy wrapping up next summer, the studio is looking at Man Of Steel to rake in some big time dough come 2013 (and potentially launch its own franchise), as opposed to putting it up against the potential juggernaut of The Hobbit in the winter of 2012. So it would make sense for the studio to aim for quality, especially with such a shaky brand.
Written by David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, Man Of Steel will star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe.
