As we explained in our interview with Ironclad director Jonathan English, his new Medieval action flick starring James Purefoy, Paul Giamatti, Kate Mara, and Brian Cox is not to be confused with those dull period pieces Europe loves to crank out. Telling the story of how a small band of rebels dug in at Rochester Castle and fought off King John (an excellent Giamatti) and his army of mercenaries to prevent the monarch from regaining control of England, it is full of the kind of blood and brutality that can only be described as getting "Medieval on that ass."

But why describe it when we can show you? Check out the clip above, which compiles all the craziest scenes of carnage, and see if you can hold down your lunch.
