Director Garry Marshall's not-quite-sequel to Valentine's Day, festively titled New Year's Eve, hopes to continue the trend of showing big-name celebrities in real world situations. The first trailer has hit the Internets and while you probably know what to expect, this film promises some surprising hook-ups. There's nothing groundbreaking here once you press play, the clip is basically a montage of all the featured players making their New Year's preparations and yearning for somebody to love.

The cast includes Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sofia Vergara, and a host of others. Between the whole lot of them, the cast has six Oscars and 20 Oscar nominations. While it may not be the most talented acting class put together on film, who even knew that Zac Efron liked older women? Do you think Ludacris' character regrets having to wake up next to Hilary Swank every morning?

New Year's Eve opens on December 9, 2011. We'll mark our calendars for when Columbus Day hits theaters in 2013.
