The 50 Best Movie Dialogue Samples in Hip-Hop

32. Compton's Most Wanted She's Gotta Have It

Song: "Whose Is It? Give it Up (Part 2)" (1990)

Who knew gangstas watch independent cinema (shot in black and white, no less)? Compton's Most Wanted get down and dirty speaking about the females, and it's Spike Lee's first joint She's Gotta Have It (1986) that is sampled for its racy dialogue. "Whose pussy is this? Whose is it?" is the heated demand Jamie Overstreet (Tommy Redmond Hicks) makes while in bed with the liberated Nola Darling (Tracy Camilla Johns). "It's yours," she answers in what turns out to be a rather significant moment in this film about sexual politics.

A sequel to CMW's "Give It Up," this cut gives the ladies a chance to offer a rebuttal to all the male boasting with female rappers Foxy Fox and Broadway the MC checking in and rocking the microphone. Give it up to some vintage West Coast goodness.
