If you want to easily make video calls on your TV, your best bet is to buy a Kinect for Xbox 360. Or you can wait until Apple releases iOS 5 which, according to some iPhone beta testers, will allow you to mirror your FaceTime conversations on larger screens connected to AirPlay-enabled devices. So, if you have an Apple TV connected to your flat screen, you'll be able to talk to your girl on the big screen. Let's hope Apple keeps this feature in the final build.
