T-Mobile unveils its new Android app, “More for Me,” today, throwing its hat into the deals-and-discounts ring. The announcement follows similar services now being offered by the likes of AOL and Amex, as well specialists such as Groupon.
The app aggregates daily deals from a number of outlets, such as LivingSocial, focusing the deals locally or even as broadly as national. And within the app, users can share the deals via Facebook, text, or e-mail.
With T-Mobile USA’s takeover by AT&T imminent, it’s only logical that the app will be available post-merger, as well as function on any carrier, T-Mobile or not. Thus, it seems that the T-Mobile USA brand could take on a different life under AT&T, separate from its identity as telecommunications company.
