See that image above with the instantly recognizable bulging eyes? It was created by Matt Groening back in 1989, when Bart Simpson was still just a twinkle in his eye.

The cartoonist did some early work for Apple, back when the company was still trying to get the word out about the Macintosh and its crazy innovations like "icons" and dropdown menus in place of blinking green command lines.

The booklet above, designed for what would become a core Apple constituency: college students, clearly displays Groening's signature animation style and dry sense of humor. See more over at The Next Web. We think "The Technoid" looks and sounds a little like Professor Frink.
