It seems that you just can't stop Dwayne Johnson from capitalizing off of the success he's achieved in Fast Five. Following up on recent news that linked his name as a potential addition, reported, the nine-time WWE champ has confirmed, via Twitter, that he's going to play Roadblock in the sequel G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.

"It's official," the actor tweeted. "Call the Pentagon, get me my big ass gun — Rocks a JOE!" The casting is a perfect fit for Johnson, who's continuing to get back into his action roots after films like Faster and the aforementioned Fast Five. Channing Tatum, Lee Byung-hun, and Ray Park are already on-board to re-enlist as Duke, Storm Shadows, and Snake Eyes, respectively. Elodie Yung signed on earlier this month to add some sex appeal as the ninja Jinx.

In addition, The Hollywood Reporter reports that RZA is in talks to co-star the Blind Master, a martial arts expert who once trained Snake Eyes and Jinx in the codified practices and traditions of combat.

While we don't know how a Cobra can strike without a Cobra Commander, the Jon Chu-directed sequel has become a higher priority for Paramount since they've had to scratch Star Trek 2 from their summer 2012 schedule.

G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes is currently set to storm theaters nationwide on August 10, 2012.
