How many of you have always envisioned the day when a live-action Spy Vs. Spy movie would become a reality? None? Well, alright. Despite that, Deadline reports that superstar multi-tasker Ron Howard has agreed to direct the mano y mano MAD Magazine comic strip for Warner Bros.
The idea of bringing Spy Vs. Spy to the big screen has been around for a long time, stretching all the way back into the '80s. John Kamps, the pen behind next year's action-thriller Premium Rush, has been tapped to write the screenplay. While there has been a fair amount of espionage excitement from the black-and-white duo, in the form of a video game and an animated TV show, this version, per Deadline's report, will be "a physical and highly visual action comedy."
One thing is certain: this film will surely bomb one way or the other. Spy Vs. Spy is the latest in a long line of projects currently on Howard's to-do list, which includes a massive adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower series.
