Mac Os X Lion To Get 'Find My Mac' Feature

Apple plans to make it super easy for you to find your laptop.

Last week, a man was able to find his stolen laptop with the aid of an inventive security tool called Hidden that allows owners to track their stolen computer and even see who's using it via the built-in camera. In the next version of Mac OS X—Lion—you won't need to look to a third party to track your lost laptop, Apple will do it for you.

Alongside the Lion feature roll out during the Worldwide Developers Conference keynote address, Apple also pushed out the fourth developer preview version of its upcoming operating system. Among other new features found in the new build was a "Find My Mac" feature similar to the app already found in iOS. From an accompanying iOS app, users can locate their machine, sound off an alarm, lock it, or wipe it clean.
