Hopefully they'll come up with a less groan-inducing title before this one hits theaters.

This summer, Jason Bateman has his hands full dealing with Kevin Spacey as a god-awful office tyrant in Horrible Bosses, and he also has the unfortunate pleasure of swapping bodies with Ryan Reynolds in The Change-Up. But now, it looks like he's ready to subject himself to more comedic problems, as the former Arrested Development star has entered early chats to co-star with Vince Vaughn in The Insane Laws.

Bateman, if he signs on, will play Vaughn's best guy pal; together, they've been inseparable since before college, maintaining a tight friendship while growing old, becoming husbands, and having kids. That camaraderie is put to the test when Vaughn's daughter—who, not so coincidentally, has secretly fallen for Bateman's son—becomes pregnant. Somebody call Maury to the set!

First-time director Jeremy Garelick, who wrote Vaughn's 2006 flick The Break-Up, is developing the project with Universal . The plan is to begin shooting before year's end.
