Getting stuck on a beach with dead cell phones and iPods does kind of suck, especially because, well, you’re not likely to find any electrical outlets. But alas, a solar-powered bikini with charging pouches—dubbed the “iKini” not cleverly enough—finally solves that conundrum, giving your girl the power to juice any device.
Brooklyn designer Andrew Schneider concocted the contraption by hand-sewing together photo-voltaic panels with conductive thread, a process which took him up to 80 hours for each bikini. Not to mention, each swimsuit also costs about $190 to make, hence a retail price over two bills.
And as for worries about electrocuting yourself, Schneider advises that you wait for the suit to dry. Obviously.
One can only hope for beer-cooling banana hammocks.
