Following the success of Angelina Jolie's action-packed thriller Salt, Sony Pictures has officially started developing Salt 2. The pouty-lipped star is set to return as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who evades capture and certain death after a defector outs her as a Russian spy. Jolie's presence will surely titillate, which should help, considering that the central mystery at of the first film (Is she or isn't she a double agent?) has already been solved, and she is off on a mission to hunt down and Russian plants.
Writer Kurt Wimmer (Law Abiding Citizen, The Recruit) is also returning, so we'll let him figure out how to keep that tension high.
