Rallying fans to help gain a role is often a fruitless effort, but that hasn't stopped Isaiah Mustafa (a.k.a. "The Old Spice Guy") from giving it the old college try. America's favorite pitch man has created a trailer to sell Marvel on the idea of playing Power Man.
The former NFL practice squad wide receiver has been vocal about his passion to play Luke Cage ever since his series of deadpan Old Spice commercials first went viral. Last July, he even stopped by G4 to officially announce his campaign for the part, saying, "I will say this...please, get this thing going. I want to be Luke Cage, OK! I want to be Luke Cage! You have no idea, I mean really, yes. I made a dream board of it and put my face on the comic. I said I want to be Luke Cage one day."
Mustafa's done everything an actor could do to get the studio's attention, from setting up a Facebook petition page to hiring a team of photographers to create mock-ups of him as Cage. And, now, he's put together a short trailer for the potential movie adaptation. Sad enough to say, this clip doesn't quite convince us that he's the guy for the role.
