There were lots of rumors about what Apple had planned for the 10th anniversary of its retail stores, but eventually those rumors settled on a set of system-wide modifications codenamed Apple Store 2.0 and engineered by none other than Steve Jobs and Jony Ive. Those modifications, including the use of iPads as information displays for Macs and expanded focus/retail space for personal assistance and set-up, are now in effect at one of the 300 plus Apple stores nearest you.

Get a look at an information-only iPad paired up with a MacBook (it's embedded into one of those signature wood display tables so you can't walk away with it) in the video above. The iPad's have a "specialist" button so that you can call a store employee for help.
