Hot Gleestar Naya Rivera will host the 2011 GLAAD Awards in San Francisco next week, but the up and coming actress might face a world of controversy when she does. At least if the American Family Association has its way.

Bryan Fischer, head of the AFA, went on a Houston, Texas Fox affiliate to bash Glee for its portrayal of homosexuals. Fischer claimed that being gay is “just as risky and just as dangerous as injection drug use. [...][It] bears enormous psychological and physical risks.”

Naturally, those views have come under fire from GLAAD, and the organization is demanding an apology from both the AFA and the Fox affiliate in Houston. As yet, no apology has been made.

Will Rivera comment on this when she hosts the GLAAD Awards next week? Stay tuned.
