Ghostpoet is a UK-based emcee known for thoughtful lines over electro-influenced beats, something like Drake's work with Noah "40" Shebib. Like Drake, Ghostpoet transitions easily from rapping to singing, his words delivered in a slow, soulful voice that suits the trip-hop soundscapes. You can hear shades of Portishead, Massive Attack, and, of course, Tricky in his music.

Ghostpoet's most recent albums is Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam (you can find it on iTunes). For a taste of the album, check out the videos for the hopeful "Survive It," and the moody "Cash and Carry Me Home."

Complex spoke with Ghostpoet about getting the most out of London, his current homebase.
