Arthouse Alert: Spielberg's "Jaws" at Midnight This Weekend (5/20-21) in NYC

The boat will never be big enough.

None

In a strange form of cosmic coordination, the first installment in the Jaws franchise screens this weekend in NYC while Jaws 2 screens in Durham, N.C. If so possessed, you could travel from North Carolina to New York and watch both Jaws films in theaters in a 48-hour time frame. We're not sure why anyone would do this, though.

We can list a good half dozen reasons why you should see the original film at midnight this weekend. Jaws first scared the bejeezus out of people on the big screen. A small TV will dilute the horrible awe the shark inspires. This weekend you can get the maximum dosage of fear from Spielberg's shark story.
