Anna Faris is currently in negotiations to co-star in Sacha Baron Cohen's semi-improvised, semi-political comedy The Dictator.

The film, which may or may not be inspired by Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator, finds Cohen playing a ruthless overlord who heads to the United States for a meeting at the United Nations, and finds that his number two has replaced him with an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike.

If Faris agrees to join the hilarity, she would play the owner of an organic food store who changes Cohen's dictatorial thinking, and adds a little spark of romance to the proceedings, as well.

As for the rest of the cast, Ben Kingsley will co-star in The Dictator as "one of two Middle Eastern characters who factor into the plot," with The League's Jason Mantzoukas in talks for the other role.

Up next for Faris is Fox's What's Your Number?, alongside Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger), which opens September 30.
