Look, we really like Jenna Fischer, especially on The Office. So we're all for her becoming a big-screen leading lady, but this? Fischer can do much better. In A Little Help, she plays a potty-mouthed mom whose husband (Chris O'Donnell) suddenly drops dead after they have an argument. Which leads to unfunny squabbles with their son, and a subplot involving 9/11 (the son tells people that his pops heroically died in the World Trade Center attacks) that probably sounded funnier on paper than it actually plays.
A Little Help looks like the kind of movie Katherine Heigl would make on a bad day, so what does that tell you? Have a look for yourselves, though; maybe we're being too harsh.
No release date has yet been set, but we'll wait until we see the actual movie before we bash it any more.
