How can you not love the plot of 30 Minutes Or Less: A pizza delivery guy is forced to rob a bank with a bomb attached to his chest. And his partner-in-crime is Parks And Recreation standout Aziz Ansari. Works for us.
Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) plays the delivery boy, while Danny McBride and Nick Swardson are the low-rent criminals behind the scheme. Not knowing what to do, Eisenberg hollers at his ex-homie Ansari to get involved with the plan so he doesn’t get blown into smithereens. From there, an adventure unfolds with car wrecks and silly (yet humorous) punchlines.
In addition to the amusing cast, 30 Minutes Or Less is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), Ben Stiller put some gwap down as a producer. We’re expecting (or hoping, rather) this flick to escalate Ansari's standing as a movie star, further prove that Eisenberg is tops when it comes to awkward leading men, and further assert McBride’s role as the champ of all things politically incorrect. Reasonable expectations, we think.
Let's see if our hopes are met come August 12.
