Twitter to Buy TweetDeck?

Rumors have surfaced that Twitter wants to buy the popular Twitter application.

None

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Twitter is in talks to acquire the popular Twitter application TweetDeck for $50 million. The app, by some estimates responsible for 11 percent of tweets on any given day, is a favorite among high volume Twitter users because of its distinct multi-panel interface and organizational features. TweetDeck is available on all devices and as a web application for Chrome and Firefox.

Twitter in the past year has sought to reclaim some of the ground it lost in the lengthy period of time the social network existed without an official app of its own. The company is looking to expand with a new London office, perhaps not coincidentally in the same place where TweetDeck is headquartered.
