Trailer Park: “Hesher” (Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Natalie Portman)

The dark comedy's latest preview amps up the Metallica..

Long haired, metal-loving burnouts are usually found carousing the aisles of the nearest 7-11 late at night looking for anything to satisfy their pot-induced munchies. But what happens when one of them takes up his residence in your garage?

In Hesher, that’s what a young boy, TJ (Devin Brochu), and his father (Rainn Wilson) have to deal with when Hesher (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) squats on their property. And while having a drifter appear in your garage uninvited may seem like a case for the police, Hesher actually helps this struggling father and son deal with a recent loss in their lives.

While the movie's latest trailer clearly shows that Hesher will deal with plenty of dark subject matter, the overall tone still remains a bit of a mystery. There dark comedy elements are evident, but it will be interesting to see just how serious director Spencer Susser goes with it.

Just from the short glimpses in the trailer, it looks like this flick has the perfect selection of actors to pull off the quirky comedy bits along with the heavier moments of introspection and heartbreak. Also, be prepared for Rainn Wilson to absolutely own his role as the father.

Hesher opens in limited release on May 13.
