Given their obsession with design and control, of course the folks at Apple would see fit to erect their own retail stores for their own products. And given those same obsessions, of course those stores wouldn't be like any others on the block.

Beginning in 2001 in Virginia, the Cupertino tech giant has built over 300 stores around the world, each one a monument to industrial design inside and out. Apple partnered with the renowned architectural firm, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson on its most extravagant storefronts, which are known to attract lines around the corner whether there's a new iPhone or not.

And they don't just look pretty: the stores have proven a not-insignificant business advantage, allowing the company to duck retailer fees, run an extremely tight supply chain and control the customer experience.

Click below and follow us on a world tour of Apple's most glorious and mouth watering shrines to state-of-the-art technology.
