Christopher Nolan is preparing to take The Dark Knight Rises out of the crime-infested slums of Gotham City and straight into scenic India. According to Daily Bhaskar, India’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry has given the Nolan and his crew permission to shoot scenes for the upcoming blockbuster in the city of Jodhpur.
While it may seem like a strange place for the production of a Batman movie to be shooting, the inclusion of a young Ra’s Al Ghul and the persistent rumors of his daughter, Talia, showing up in the movie certainly fit in with the setting.
The Dark Knight Rises will be released on July 20, 2012.
