The phrase “new Sonic game” has become akin to swearing in recent years, as title after title has done nothing but tarnish the once beloved fast-paced side-scrolling franchise. It's hard to believe that the hedgehog first dashed onto consoles 20 years ago, but like so many other things these days, it’s coming back once again. Sonic Generations hopes to shake off its sordid past and deliver gameplay true to the original. The game features both classic and modern Sonic characters, and from the gorgeous trailer we can see levels designed for both 2D and first-person perspectives.
