Marilyn Davenport, an elected Republican official based in Orange County, California, sent a picture to her fellow colleagues depicting the 44th President of the United States and his family as chimpanzees.
Yes, chimpanzees.
Seems like someone was too excited about The Rise of the Planet of the Apes trailer and went ham with their Adobe photoshop skills. Davenport had spoken out against claims of racism, saying that the image is "amusing." Unsurprisingly, though, liberal and civil rights groups are outraged, demanding that Davenport steps down.
As you can see in the video above, the image was accompanied with the birther-friendly caption: "Now you know why—no birth certificate!" All of the recent claims that Barack Obama's presidency is illegitimate are just the first shots being fired as the 2012 election begins to heat up.
Despite all of the heat she's receiving, Davenport says that she has no plans to resign.

No surprise coming out of the "Orange Curtain". Just like going to small town in the "old south". Her peers, so much like her, put her in that position. Believe me this is not California. Don't sweat the small stuff.

It is VILE that Marilyn Davenport has yet to be dismissed from the OC GOP!! Anyone who displays such blatant racism against another citizen should immediately be fired from their governmental post. Contact the GOP now and demand she be let go: http://bit.ly/e6Zpnc
