Tonight marks Steve Carell’s departure from the show that he made famous, The Office. While it isn’t clear who will take his place, we do know that the show will probably never fully recover from it.
Throughout the years, Michael Scott’s various motivational speeches, office parties, and cavalcade of improv characters have made the show work and without him it’s unclear whether or not it can even survive.
So to celebrate the end of one of the best characters in modern television, we’re counting down Our Five Favorite Michael Scott Moments.
5. PRISON MIKE (EPISODE: "THE CONVICT")
In order to show his co-workers that prison isn’t the great place they think it is, Michael reaches into his background as a thespian and creates a character in order to show them how awful it is to be locked up. We'd be scared straight if we weren't doubled over with laughter.
