Google may never surrender its search engine supremacy—its competitors seem to have resigned themselves to fighting for second place. Well, all but one: Bing.
Microsoft’s aggressive marketing campaign and TV spots may have done little to impact the desktop space, but the mobile game remains open. Thus, with the release of the Bing app for the iPad today, it seems that MS is on to something.
Boasting rich imagery and an intuitive layout with the iPad specifically in mind, it’s not so much a simple search engine but rather the app gives the feeling of a full-blown portal to everything the Internets has to offer; a Bing-branded web browswer. In turn, it really does antiquate Google’s overly threadbare iPad offering in comparison. Don’t be surprised when you jump ship.—Devin Chanda
