Once a queen of romantic comedies that don't suck, like Innerspace and When Harry Met SallyMeg Ryan seen better days. Aside from her plastic surgery fails, she hasn't acted in a movie we'd watch willingly since 2003's skin-baring In The Cut. Perhaps this is why she's reportedly taking a crack at directing, starting with Into The Beautiful.

The film, which Variety describes as "a contemporary Big Chill with longtime friends reconnecting," was written by Anne Meredith (Bastard Out Of Carolina, Cavedweller). Sadly, for anyone who enjoys surgically enhanced lips, Ryan will not act in the film. She and producer Wendy Finerman will start casting shortly, and the cameras will start rolling this September in New York.

But this doesn't mean a total career change as the actress is supposed to be starting work on Lives of the Saints with our celebrated cover girl Kat Dennings, John Lithgow, and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson this month.
