Justin Bieber is no joke on the court (check out his "most badass" sports moments for proof), and it seems that we're not the only ones impressed by the Canadian pop sensation's hoop skills.
The story goes that Mark Wahlberg was made a "belieber" by the teenage star at an event during NBA All-Star Weekend in February, and now he's just itching to give the kid a movie.
How To Make It In America writer Ian Edelman has been called off the bench to create a basketball-inspired script for Bieber. Wahlberg will also co-star as a Mr. Miyagi-type mentor.
Paramount is very excited at the idea of these two working together as anything with Bieber's name on it turns to gold. His rags-to-riches documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Neverwas made for only $13 million and grossed $97 mil worldwide. Even the doc's director, Jon Chu, has felt the Midas' touch, as he's now attached to the G.I. Joe sequel.
No director has signed on to helm the Bieber/Wahlberg project yet, but it's only a matter of time before a coach is added to this untitled bball flick.
