Is it just us, or does solar power seem like it always gets the short end of the energy stick? GE is looking to revitalize production of the alternative energy source with a massive new factory that it announced today.
With 400 employees producing enough solar panels to provide 400 megawatts of energy per year (enough to power 80,000 homes), the plant will be the largest of its kind in America. GE hasn't announced a location for the new facility yet, but is expected to do so in the coming months.
Hopefully an additional big player in the solar energy field will help make panels more efficient, cost-effective, and ultimately more popular.
