Consumer Reports have applied their trusted ranking methodology to the tablet field, ranking the top 10 tablets available now. The magazine used 17 criteria, including ease-of-use, portability, viewing angle, battery life and more.
In the end, and unsurprisingly, Apple's iPad 2-- the only second-generation device on market-- topped the list, getting "Excellent" marks in nearly all categories and blowing away the competition with its 12.2 hour battery life. Second place? That went to the original iPad, which shared the silver metal in a tie with Motorola's Xoom. Also ranked were the 7inch Samsung Galaxy Tab (it'll be interesting to see how the 10.1 sizes up), the Dell Streak and others.
