Do not thank God it is Friday. Today marks the end of an error at Dunder Mifflin, and the end of an era for comedy fans, um, ever—the final day Steve Carell will be on the set of The Office (until he returns sometime during sweeps week in 2012).

"Steve Carell's last day on The Office," Rainn Wilson wrote on Twitter. "And the angels of comedy wept." He hashtagged the sadness with "#saddestdayever," which is probably better than #winning or #tigerblood at this point. (Note: If you haven't tired of Charlie Sheen yet, do be sure to check out Complex's awesome Charlie Sheen Soundboard!!!)

Carell's final day of shooting means that we've got to be coming closer to the moment when The Office producers will finally reveal who they plan on replacing Michael Scott with. Our money is on someone non-famous, and possibly in-house. Which means that you can probably expect Will Ferrell or Paul Rudd to take over permanently.
