The Top 50 Funny Movies

Some guys would rather challenge Brock Lesnar to a cage match than watch romantic comedies. Others are butter-soft and can't mess with horror flicks. And, as crazy as it sounds, there are even some men who get all uncomfortable whenever porn flicks are on—unless you're below the age of 10, work on that ish, son. But there’s one film genre that every man, and even woman, can agree upon, and that’s comedy. Who doesn't want to laugh every now and then? Just because a movie has the "comedy" tag, however, doesn’t guarantee that it'll actually make you laugh. The last time we checked, some of Tyler Perry's unendurable flicks fall under this category, as do Pauly Shore's movies and Carrot Top's punishing Chairman of the Board. So, yeah, picking the right comedy entails some discretion. That's where we come in, fam. A few years back, Complex put together our 50 favorite funny movies; since then, though, a bunch of great comedies have blessed cinemas and made us re-evaluate our list. The result: Our scrupulously rebuilt countdown of The Top 50 Funny Movies, completed after hours of laughter. Your Netflix queue is naked without it.

I agree 100%. Even though there are some classic funnies in this list, I'd replace Airplane! with Anchorman for the #1 spot without thinking it twice.

One of the worst lists ever? Anchorman number 1? No Monty Python or Richard Pryor in the top 10?

Yes, if Anchorman is #1 for being quotable and they have all the other cult films to make it big on the list. Then Napoleon Dynamite should be at least on the list.

Napoleon dynamite is on a different list... top 50 worst movies of all time. I'm pretty sure it's #1

Anchorman is incredibly overrated. Coming to America should be #1. Where is Harlem Nights, Napoleon Dynamite, Beverly Hills Cop, and SIDEWAYS??

Where is Sideways?! Not only is it a consummate movie, but it's f'n hilarious!
