Snitch, a project which has been on hold for years, is getting a healthy dose of electricity as Dwayne Johnson enters talks to star in the prison drama. Ric Roman Waugh (Felon) will direct and rewrite the original script by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road). The Wrestlemania XXVII host will play a broken father who goes undercover to nail a drug kingpin in order to reduce his son's 30-year jail sentence.
Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, Alex Brunner, David Fanning, and Gordon Gray are producing, with a June start date in their sights. For those who've seen Faster, it's clear that man who oscillates between family movies and hard-edge action flicks is ready to kick some ass yet again. Universal's fifth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast Five (out on April 29) finds Johnson starring alongside Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.
