Sprinkles Cupcakes, the successful bakery shop that started in L.A., opened its doors in D.C. today, making it their first East Coast based location (don't fret New Yorkers, NYC's is set to open in May 2011). Like other Sprinkles bakeries, the D.C. branch will serve signatures like red velvet, chocolate marshmallow, and more. With co-signs from girls we barely thought ate at all like Paris Hilton and Katie Holmes, to the ladies we knew could eat like Barbra Streisand and Oprah Winfrey, it's safe to say that Sprinkles cooks up some damn good cupcakes. This opening will most likely mark a bitter rivalry with successful local chain Georgetown Cupcakes, but it's all good, competition only makes things sweeter for the customer.
