A Chinese shoemaker creates the ultimate promo item.

While Chevy, Ford, and Nissan are fighting for the best-electric-car crown, a Chinese shoe company comes through with a model that is by far the most…um…interesting.

Yep, the brown lace-up you see above with a person sticking out of the top is an electric car. Created by Kang Shoe, a Chinese shoe company, the car was built in six months as a marketing stunt.

The electric oxford can seat two, travel for 250 miles on a single battery charge, and only cost $6,515. Oh, and its body is molded out of real leather.

Who's going to make the Jordan III electric car?
