The obnoxious trend of announcing DLC before a game is even released continues with Mortal Kombat. Netherrealm Studios has confirmed that Kenshi and Scarlet will be playable characters in the title’s first post-release pack. Kenshi is a blind swordsman who has been available in past MK titles, but Scarlet is completely new...kinda. See, back in the days of the Mortal Kombat 2 arcade version, many of the characters were simply differently colored re-skins of other characters, and a glitch made it possible to see the female ninja model in red; rumors were that the red ninja girl was actually a secret character, and fans nicknamed her Scarlet. Now, for the first time, she’s a real character with her own suite of moves and fatalities. No word on the cost or release date of the DLC, but Mortal Kombat is set for a gory debut on April 19.
