We all know Will Ferrell is stepping into The Office to replace Steve Carell at the end of this season (his first episode airs on April 14), but will Ferrell be at Dunder-Mifflin for the long haul? If you believe the funnyman, yes.

“Yes, I’m taking over,” Ferrell told EW. “My character’s name is Deangelo Vickers, he loves the American Southwest, and he’s just kind of in his own way going to step into Michael Scott’s shoes and try to fill them. I’m friends with Steve and a fan of the show, and I just selfishly wanted to do one episode with him, and they pitched multiple ones, and I said, ‘That’d be great.’”

So, multiple episodes -- does that mean Ferrell will be a regular next season? "Yeah. A regular, full-time gig.”

Before you get excited though, check what some sources close to the show told EW. "Will was likely joking, but time will tell.” Riiggght. Time will tell that Ferrell is just a guest star and probably not the next head honcho on The Office. Still, it would be fun...
