Futurama was once just a moderately popular cartoon on Fox, floundering behind The Simpsons. Now, the cartoon has found new life on cable.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Comedy Central is bringing the cult cartoon back for another two years, keeping the show on until at least 2013. Even though it's not clear if those two years will be considered two seasons or one, each year will contain 13 episodes.

Futurama started on Fox in 1999 but was canceled in 2003. The Matt Groening-created intergalactic 'toon then got a second life from Comedy Central in 2008. Last year, the show averaged 2.5 million viewers per week.
