Exhibit See: "Ten Thousand Waves" Opens in NYC on Friday (3/18)

Check this collection of still photos taken on the set of the film "Ten Thousand Waves", about a group of Chinese fishermen who drowned in England in 2004.

In 2004, 23 Chinese cockle-pickers drowned in England. This tragedy inspired artist Isaac Julien to create a film about the Chinese goddess Mazu, who is known for bringing lost fishermen to safety. This exhibition presents photographs taken on the dramatic movie sets. There is a nonlinearity to the works, which are not only about Chinese culture, but also human and artistic migration.
