Exhibit See: "Spirituality" Works by David Wojnarowicz from 1979 -1990 Opens Saturday in NYC

Check a new exhibition of religious-themed art from the late sculptor and painter.

In November, the Smithsonian removed a piece by David Wojnarowicz from an exhibit due to complaints from the Catholic Church and members of Congress. This weekend, PPOW Gallery presents a show that seeks to present a fuller and truer picture of Wojnarowicz's relationship with religion. Though Wojnarowicz, who spent his early years hustling in New York City, died from AIDS related complications in 1992, his paintings, sculptures, and film give new life to his voice.
