RIM has announced that its long touted, due in less-than-a-month new tablet, the Blackberry Playbook, will support Android apps in addition to apps from RIM's own App World. Both kinds of Apps will be available for sale in App World.

This is good news, since shipping with only the comparatively paltry 25,000 apps currently available for Blackberry devices would have been tantamount to suicide. See the full announcement over at BGR.
